Automate Your Container Bookings With Flexible Booking Rules

Containers and loading equipment are the central link of logistical functions and, when optimally adapted to the general conditions, enable a seamless material flow between all players within the supply chain. Without a central container management solution, companies are often faced with the challenge of not having transparent insight into requirements, stock levels, as well as information flows about the containers in circulation. This is remedied by myleo / dsc, in which you can easily store your individual booking rules using a Blockly editor.

The digital transformation has led to a wide range of container management solutions on the market. There are a wide variety of solutions to effectively and transparently manage container cycles. However, many offerings focus purely on mapping and controlling container movements. The added value and effectiveness of such a solution is always based on the information available and provided. This information is often known, but not used.

By integrative use of data, for example from upstream systems, container bookings can be created automatically and be automated. Thus, the effectiveness of a container management solution can be significantly increased and the classic range of functions can be extended.

This is exactly where the container management of myleo / dsc comes in. The solution can be used stand-alone or integrated with upstream systems such as SAP TM. In transport planning (freight order), the sender, recipient, date and container or loading equipment are already known. This information is read out via the myleo / dsc Connectivity Service and a corresponding pre-planning is created. This leads to enormous time savings when entering an incoming or outgoing container, as the sender, recipient, planning date and planned container quantities are already preset and manual entry is no longer necessary. In addition, the susceptibility to errors for incorrect entry is greatly minimized.

However, the integrative use of information from upstream systems can be automated even further. Since the pre-planning already contains all relevant information, it is even possible to fully automate a container booking. This is done via firmly defined booking rules, which map simple bookings from sender to recipient, but also much more complex scenarios.

Often, a wide variety of supply chain partners are involved in the supply chain. Accordingly, the container debt should not pass directly to the recipient, but first to the next actor involved. Using the existing information from pre-planning, even such complex bookings to all involved actors can be mapped in the booking rules.

There are a number of flexible configuration options to map your desired booking behavior. For example, different container bookings can be defined depending on the freight order type, so that single or collective container bookings can be automated with just one click, minimizing the risk of errors.

Blockly editor

You can easily create your booking rules using the Blockly editor integrated in myleo / dsc. Blockly is a graphically simplified code editor. It is based on classic programming rules, such as loops, mathematics or text modules, which can be visually displayed and interlocked as "blocks" within the editor. Users are thus able to apply programming principles according to the modular principle without technical programming skills.
